Obituary – Rozalia Florincescu

Rozalia Florincescu was born in Sinicolaul, Bihor, on July 27, 1924, to parents Petrica Gheorge and Maria. The Petrica family had seven children: Georghe, Petru, Maria, Ioan, Teodor, Rozalia and Florica. The faithful parents took the children to the church when they were little, and so at the age of 15, Rozalia confessed the Lord as her personal Savior and Lord and was baptized by Fr. Nicolae Covaci, pastor of the Baptist church in Oradea at that time.

Life and life problems caused her to move to Bucharest, where she lived until 1985, when she and her husband Florin emigrated to the United States and settled in Atlanta. In Atlanta, they were part of our church, First Romanian Baptist Church, since the early days of the church.

Sister Rozalia did not have children but she was very close to her sister Florica and was like the second mother to her children and this was a determining factor for them to emigrate to America and be close to her sister.

Since they came to Atlanta, they have been never been absent from church until their inability to come prevented them from continuing to do so. Sister Rozalia had a beautiful voice and until recently she liked to sing and compose song to the glory of the Lord. The songs she composed speak of the love of the Lord for us and the salvation he gave us. She also had another song composed that she wanted to sing to the congrogation but it was no longer possible.

She wanted to reach the age of 95 and the Lord fulfilled this desire, but at the same time tired of her old age and physical weakness she wanted the Lord to take her home. On the night of September 30, 2019, at 12:40 AM, she went to meet her Lord and Savior whom she loved. She is survived by her sister, Florica Cocian, 13 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren with the hope of seeing them again in the heavenly homeland.
