“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” – Revelations 14:3
Our mother Maria Motz was born in Iscroni on February 27, 1929! She grew up in Arad, then was baptized at Speranța Church by Fr Alexa Popovici, after which in 1947 Fr Alexa officiated the marriage with Simion Motz. In 1978 the Motz family immigrated to America and either settled in California and then in 1988 or moved to Georgia.
Mom left behind her four children Doru with Maria, his wife, Dani with Camelia, his wife, Nico with Rolland, her husband, and Genu with Lydia, his wife. Also left were the 11 grandchildren – David, Joseph, Ethan, Cara, Judd, Nathan, Zachariah, Isaiah, Ezra, Miriam, and Ezekiel, as well as the 5 great-grandchildren.
I remember her, as she cared, with all her love, for her beloved husband and our father, Simion, until August 2005, when he was nearing the end of his run. I am overwhelmed with many precious memories of her life of faith!
Now, too, she went to her beloved Lord, where “there is no pain.” O Lord, bring the moment faster when we all meet you in the clouds of heaven, at Rapture!
We mourn, but not as some who have no hope! Lord, bring the moment of the meeting with her, our father, our daughter, and all the saints who left Home! But, above all, please, Lord, as soon as we meet you in the clouds of heaven, Dear Beloved!
