Mr. Mihai Jar, son of Vasile Jar and Eugenia Liteanu Jar, was born the 2nd of nine children, on September 24th, 1940 in Stiubieni, Botosani, Romania. He was a member of the community church where he grew up and he proclaimed his heart for Jesus through baptism at the youthful age of 18. After his completion of professional trade school for electricians, he joined the Romanian military at the age of 19 where he dedicated 2 years and ranked to Staff Sergeant.
He was united in holy matrimony to Maria Marinca on September 20th of 1964. This union was blessed with 5 children. During his time in Romania Mihai lived and worked in different cities, with last residence in Cluj Napoca.
In May of 1984, Mihai Jar and his family migrated to the United States and a year later came to reside in Atlanta, Georgia where he lived the remainder of his days. He was an active and devout member of the First Romanian Baptist Church of Atlanta, and also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He retired at the age of 62, and spent his golden years with family at home and friends from church. He had a love for gardening, chess, and literature, also enjoyed helping people with home projects. He quietly departed this life on the morning of October 6th, 2020, in his home, surrounded by family.
His life will forever be remembered in the hearts of his children, son, Marius, daughter in law, Alina, daughter, Camelia, daughter, Gabriela, son in law, Marian,
son, Claudiu, daughter in law, Kelly, daughter Laura, and his wife Maria. He was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Roxana, Renate, Adelina, Andy, Monique, Gabe and 2 great-grandchildren; Asher and Caden. He is survived by 5 siblings Pavel, Marita, Lidia, Viorel, and Stelica.
