Maria Jar went home to be with Jesus on November 8th, 2021 at the age of 79.
Maria was born to Catalina and Ilie Marinca on June 12, 1942 in Viisoara, Romania. She was a member of the baptist church and, at the age of 14, proclaimed her heart to Jesus through baptism. She finished her general studies at 18 yrs old and 4 years later married Mihai Jar on September 20th, 1964. This union was blessed with 5 children.
Maria and her family emigrated from Romania to Chicago, IL USA in May of 1984 and 1 year later came to reside in Atlanta GA. In 2008, Maria retired from Ciba Vision/Alcon where she worked as a lens inspector technician for 16 years.
She attended First Romanian Baptist Church of Atlanta with her husband and family and became an active member in 1985. She had a heart for service and enjoyed cooking and helping in the church kitchen for different events. She was loved by many women in the church for her caregiving and generous spirit. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a strong, courageous, and loving mother who sacrificed not only for her biological children, but also others who needed her help.
Maria is predeceased by her mother and father, husband Mihai Jar, brother Ioan Marinca, brother Cornel Marinca, brother Samuel Marinca, and sister Ica Marinca.
Maria is survived by her 5 children, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 4 siblings: son Marius Jar and his wife Alina, daughter Camelia Jar, daughter Gabriela Rodila and her husband Marian, son Claudiu McClaude, daughter Laura Soleimani, granddaughter Roxanna Hurlburt, granddaughter Renate Duffey, granddaughter Adelina Case, grandson Andy Rodila, granddaughter Monique Soleimani, grandson Gabriel Clanton, brother Ilie Marinca, sister Ana Sandru, brother Emil Marinca, brother Silviu Marinca, great-grandchildren Asher Hurlburt and Caden Duffey.
