Ana Rodila- Obituary

What does a great life lived with Jesus look like?

Ana Rodila, Mica for most of us, was born on the 21 day of DEC 1936 in Gabud, Alba district of Romania. She was one of 12 children born to Niculae & Ana Iuoras. She was part of a Christian family and would start each day with prayer and worship. This is something that she carried on for the rest of her life as she could often be heard humming hymns and ceaselessly praying throughout the day.

Ana was fervent to learn. As part of growing up on a farm, her obligations to the farm and her family would take most of her time. But she would consistently work late into the night, literally burning the midnight oil and was often also at the top of her class.

Ana met and married the love of her life, Vasile Rodila, in Aug of 1959. They were blessed with 4 children, Doru, Dora, Marian, David and later in life they adopted and raised their grandchild Olga. Ana remained very dedicated to her family and her children. Everything she did in life was to ensure that her family was taken care of in all their early needs: clothes hand made with care, the most delicious home-made foods, and the best kept home. Her dedication to hard work continued into a career working at a factory in rotating shifts to help with the finances of the house. Endlessly servant-hearted she is fondly remembered as coming home from a full nights work and still serving her family throughout the day.

Her husband, Vasile, came to the United States in 1990 and worked hard to set up a life for them. Ana would eventually join him in 1993. They settled in Georgia helping to raise their grandchildren. Ana was selfless and often gave anything she had to help others. Her true passion was children and she helped not only with raising her grandchildren, but also babysitting for others in the community until the year 2000 when she fell ill to a long term sickness. During this time she was surrounded by her loving family who had the joy of experiencing her heart for the Lord, even as her memory recessed her knowledge of the word of God remained. Showing a clear picture of how a heart devoted to the Lord surpasses even a mind that’s fading.

Ana and Vasile were and continued to remain active members at First Romanian Baptist Church of Atlanta. They served their community and participated in small groups, bible studies, and church leadership. They are thankful for the love and support that they received during all their years in this family of faith.

Ana is survived by her husband Vasile, her children Doru with his wife Anca, Dora, Marian with his wife Gabriella, David with his wife Maria, and Olga with her husband Kris. She is also survived by her her grandchildren Jessica, Roxanna with her husband Ian, Radu with his wife Karis, Raluca, Renate with her husband Caleb, Mark, Adelina with her husband Josh, Rebeca, and Andy. Ana also had two great grandchildren, Asher and Caden.
